The Company
After spending a few years perfecting Type 4 cylinder, a product known all over the world for its cutting-edge technology, Giovanni decided to found a new company aimed at exploiting the full potential of Type 4 cylinders: taking advantage of the lightness, ductility and unparalleled performance given by the inner plastic liner to tackle new markets and expand the consumer base.
To do this Carbon Cylinder has developed several patents concerning both the design and the production process so that the products and dimensions designed and marketed provide an unprecedented feature: a different shape from the cylindrical one, never seen before when compared to the existing pressure tanks.
This is where the story of Carbon Cylinder begins.
How did it all start?
Carbon Cylinder managed to push through the tough times of the pandemic from Covid-19 thanks to many sacrifices by its founders, until in June 2021 the company was acquired by Rototech Group, a leading TIER-1 company from Turin in design and production of plastic tanks and components through roto-moulding for automotive application.
Today Carbon Cylinder is on the market as a world leader in the production of Type 4 cylinders.

Giovanni Artusi
Founder
After graduating, Giovanni decided not to continue his studies because he was in a hurry to become independent. Or maybe he was just in a hurry to do, to develop the ideas in his mind.
The (few) mistakes along the way thought him a lot and made him demanding and extremely critical, first of all towards himself.
At only 20 years old, he started to work in Aprilia, as a technician.
The motorcycle giant founded in Noale was in an extremely flourishing period so Giovanni had the chance to learn a lot. Then, he decided to dedicate himself to something else.
He was noted by the Rossignol Group, leader in the world of outdoor sports with some of the most famous equipment and clothing brands in the industry. There, Giovanni dealt with making advanced R&D for the design of ski boots.
Yet, Giovanni was not satisfied: the peaks he was aiming, stood even higher.
His eclectic figure was reported to the leaders of the Pam Group for which Artusi became responsible for the opening of several “iN’s” stores on the territory, developing the network and the structure of individual stores.
Starting from the early 2000s, Artusi dedicated himself to real estate market, contributing to the construction of entire neighbourhoods in his home town.
In the last decade he was called as a consultant by Composite Technical Systems SpA with the aim of resolving some internal issue that resulted in a discontinuity on cylinder production. Issues that were resolved in just two years.
The change of the holding company and the different ideas on the future of Type 4 cylinders put him in a position to decide either to stay or to go away and starting something different.
This is where the story of Carbon Cylinder begins.
Giovanni, together with his son Giacomo, founded the innovative start-up that soon became a world leader in the design and marketing of Type 4 cylinders.

To date, Giacomo speaks fluent English, French and has some knowledge of Russian. This allows him to be the right contact person within the company founded with his father, where Giacomo coordinates the commercial side.
After all, his experience in Sales begins a few years ago, when, at the beginning of 2017, he is called in CTS to take care of the Sales Department, since the role required great skills in foreign languages.
At CTS Giacomo begins to work full time, learning all about the cylinder industry, having the opportunity to enrich his horizons by traveling and meeting experts from this industry.
When Giovanni Artusi left Composite Technical Systems SpA, Giacomo followed him and, since then, together they have tried to grasp and exploit the full potential of Type 4 cylinders also in relation to improving the impact of the product on the environment, by also trying to develop solution that could facilitate the energy transition towards Hydrogen and other green gases.
